Okay yall. So, it's official. Work is under way on my next issue of Just That Good!! I'm very excited about this one because it's all about The Rocky Horror Picture Show!! That's something that I'm incredibly in love with and I thought it would be a really fun issue to do.

ANNNNNNND! This is the first time that I'm ever going to do individual covers! Below is just a sample of the cover. It's not entirely done yet and that's just the front. I haven't done anything on the back yet, but I'm thinking that I'll put different lyrics to the different songs on each back cover. You know, have a different song on the back of each zine.

Anyway. This zine will be chock full of stuff about Rocky Horror and all it's awesomeness. It's still very much under construction, but since I'm making individual covers, I'd kind of like to make enough to go around so that I won't be scrambling later to make more. Right now I have 31 covers done. This is not all I'll do if there is demand for it. I would just like to make enough the first time around so that I won't be going back and forth with the paint and stencils and then to the copy shop to copy the zine's innards.

Soooooo, if you are interested in a copy of this zine, Just That Good number 14, then Please shoot me an email at: justthatgoodzine at gmail dot com. It will hopefully be done in the next three weeks give or take a week or two.

What it costs:
$2 or 2 stamps, or a trade.

I want my pages to be uniform with the blob.

I know that I can do it by splitting up the image of the blob in equal parts and then putting it all in a table format and bladibla, but that's a little too complex for me and I wanted to know if anyone else could do it.

If you know how to do this, or you know exactly where I can snag a code for that, then PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!!

The Marvelous Disaster of Revealing Your True Feelings

The Marvelous Disaster of Revealing Your True Feelings is the title of my new memoir zine. This was going to be part of my regular zine, Just That Good, but I decided that the story within these pages was just too personal to include in Just That Good, so I branched it off into it's own little memoir zine series.

Inside this 24-page zine is the story of cheesey, ooey, gooey, romancey proportions. It's a wonderful (hah) little memoir of my reasons why I'm such a guarded shrew when it comes to men (sometimes). I pretty much spill my guts out about a boy I met, fell in love with, pushed away from fear of getting hurt, then had him move away from me, and then I realize that I really had deep feelings for him. It's kinda sappy, but whatevers, it was therapy for me. It was really tough to write and I wanted to finish it before the end of last year, but I didn't make it.

There are only five copies left now, but don't worry, I'm going to make more copies. However, once these fives copies are gone, I won't be able to accept trades so that I can go and make the copies and buy more stamps (my supply will be running rather low soon).

So, right now it is $1 or trade, but after the five copies are gone, it will be $1 strictly until I get more excess copies.

Also, still available is Just That Good #13, The Place For Friends Issue. It's all about myspace and it's wonderousness.

This one is also $1 or trade.

For more info or to ask about getting a copy, e-mail me at :
justthatgoodzine AT gmail DOT com

Questions:

1) Why do you think it's important that we have zines in this world?

2) Why do you think it's important for individuals to write their own zines?

3) Explain to me why YOU write zines, and why you encourage others to start their own zines (if applicable).

4) Do you think zine-writing is beggining to become a "trend" among younger people, and if so, do you think this is a good or bad thing?

5) How do you personally feel about zines and how have they affected you as a person?

6) What do you think is the reason many people start zines? What is the reason that you started a zine?

7) And finally, please add anything extra that you think will aide me in writing my news story entry.

gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood!

why do my parents not understand the point of zines? why do they not understand that no one EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER makes money making, selling, or distributing zines?

Okay, maybe they make a little money, but fucking hell, they don't make all this money selling people's zines so they can go take a four month cruise to Austrailia or someplace.

So, I just went to ask my dad a simple question about wholesale prices and blahdity blah, and he starts talkin' all this capitalist shit about how my zine's retail price should really be like $1.50, so that I can sell my zine at a higher wholesale price to distro's and such. And he's all like "the only reason all these conventions for zines get put on is so they can attract more people into zines, so that they can start selling their zines and make profit off of you."

WHAT THE FLYING FUCK IS THAT?!

NO, NO, NO, NO, NO FATHER YOU ARE WRONG,
WRONG
,
WRONG!!!!

How can he say that?! How can he truely believe that?! I've been making zines for four years, I've been deeply in the zine world here online and such for over a year, and I've done reading on tons of shit, and I've got FOUR FUCKING YEARS OF PERSONAL EXPERIENCE on zines and he actually tells me that people make zines to make a profit?

And then,
AND THEN!
he fucking tries to tell me that if I sell this particular issue of my zine at $1 and then I sell my next issue at $2, people will think I'm ripping them off!! First off! FIRST OFF, the size of my next issue could be a lot bigger, therefore, to make sure I get enough money to pay for stamps and printing, I would need to charge that extra dollar....simply because of the content.......all...and I repeat
ALL
of the money that I have been sent for my zines has either gone straight to the post office so I can buy/send stamps/zines or gone right into the checking account that my mother set aside for me to use for my zine-doings.

I've never, ever, wanted to move out of my house before...ever...and right now...I just want to move away....get away from them and their minds that have been so brainwashed by money and capitalism.......how can they not understand that no one makes zines for money? how can they understand that while it's nice for us zinesters to get some money, we really don't care as long as there are people out there reading our zines? It's all about the personal satisfaction out there that someone else cares....not about money....

You remember that MySpace survey I had a few months ago? Well, some people are still sending some to me, and that's great! Really, it is. I'm surprised so many people took an interest in it.

However, I really don't need any more as I already have about 20 to go through, and all these extra ones are kind of rocking my "statistics" boat.

As for the URLs for the reviews, I've got enough of those as well...somewhere around 20 of those, too. So, there is no need for anyone to keep sending those to me.

Okay, since the deadline for submissions to The Pomp and Circumstance Issue has passed, I will now be taking orders for anyone that is interested in buying a copy of my zine. This issue will be about high school graduation, high school life, and what comes next (i.e. life after high school, college choices, etc.). As far as I know right now, the zine will be 28 pages half-size, black & white. The price will be $2.00 as far as I can tell. I'll have more details later, but if you are interested in getting a copy of my zine, please e-mail me at justthatgoodzine@gmail.com. I am always interested in trades, so if you have something you want to trade, just e-mail me what you have and we'll make a trade.

Signed,
Becca Confidential
